PDO Threads

PDO Threads are a non surgical thread used to ignite collagen and elastin which may result  in firmer skin.  PDO stands for Polydioxanone.  PDO threads are the same stitch material used in dissovlable stitches when you surgically repair a wound.  Self Aesthetics chooses to use a global brand that are both TGA and EU approved for use.

Results will start to appear as early as 6 weeks but reveal the true result at 3 months.  This is when the treatment needs to be repeated.  Maintenance should take place every 12 months.

PDO Threads Continued

Just like your bed sheets, Thread Count Matters!  The more threads placed in an area the more collagen and elastin is likely to be stimulated.  Once the threads have been placed its up to your body to do the work.  Everyone is going to respond differently making an initial consultation crucial.

The difference between mono and *double thread is the amount thread on an individual needle.  Double threads have more thread so the price point reflects this.  A surcharge will be added if Double Threads are replacing Mono Threads.

Bruising & Swelling

Bruising is almost a given when it comes to PDO threads.  Bruises can be small spot bruises to significant bruising.  ** For all treatments over $500 complimentary Aftercare Bruise Cream is given.  You can purchase Aftercare Bruise Cream for $19.95.

Self Aesthetics recommends applying Numbit or Emla cream purchased from your local chemist at home just prior to your appointment.  We will apply a further layer of our topical anaesthetic in clinic pre treatment.
